Öğe Assessing body experiences in pregnancy: Translation, adaptation and validity of the Body Experience during Pregnancy Scale to Turkish(EDAM, 2023) Tosun, Hülya; Kaptanoğlu, Ayşegül; Hüseyin EbadiObjective: This study was conducted first to translate and adapt the Body Experience during Pregnancy Scale to Turkish and second, to validate its psychometric properties within unplanned pregnancies Methods: 143 Turkish pregnant women filled out the Turkish version of the Body Experience during Pregnancy Scale (BEPSt), Prenatal Distress Scale, and Prenatal Attachment Inventory. Confirmatory factor analysis was utilised, and Cronbach’s alpha coefficients and correlation coefficients were reported. Results: The overall scale of BEPSt and its three subscales were found to have satisfactory psychometric properties, with Cronbach’s alphas 0.79 for the BEPSt, 0.78 for body agency subscale, 0.70 for body estrangement subscale, and 0.71 for body visibility subscale. Conclusion: This study validated the use of the translated Turkish version of the Body Experience during Pregnancy Scale as a psychometrically acceptable measure for assessing the body experiences of pregnant women.Öğe Assessing body experiences in pregnancy: Translation, adaptation and validity of the Body Experience during Pregnancy Scale to Turkish.(Ayşegül KAPTANOĞLU, 2023) Tosun, Hülya; Kaptanoğlu, Ayşegül; Hüseyin EbadiObjective: This study was conducted first to translate and adapt the Body Experience during Pregnancy Scale to Turkish and second, to validate its psychometric properties within unplanned pregnancies Methods: 143 Turkish pregnant women filled out the Turkish version of the Body Experience during Pregnancy Scale (BEPSt), Prenatal Distress Scale, and Prenatal Attachment Inventory. This study investigated the effects on malondialdehyde (MDA), advanced protein oxidation products (AOPP), superoxide dismutase (SOD), prolidase and sialic acid (SA) levels in the heart, kidney and liver tissues of EPO pretreatment in pentylenetetrazole (PTZ)-induced seizures. Materials and Method: Thirty three male adult rats were divided into three groups. A saline-injected control group, a 60 mg/kg PTZ-injected group to induce seizures and a 3000 IU/kg EPO-injected group 24 hours before seizures. After seizure severity and seizure latency were scored, the rats sacrificed, the tissues were immediately removed for biochemical analyses. Results: The PTZ-induced seizures increased MDA in kidney (p<0.01) and AOPP in liver (p<0.05) but didn’t alter these markers in heart tissue. In all three tissues, SOD didn’t change due to seizures. The SA levels increased in the heart (p<0.001), de creased in the kidney (p<0.001), and were unchanged in liver. Prolidase increased (p<0.05) only in kidney, and was unchanged in other tissues. EPO-pretreatment decreased seizure severity and increased seizure latency. It prevented the increase in MDA in the kidney (p<0.01) but increased AOPP (p<0.05) and decreased SOD (p<0.01) and further increased prolidase more than the seizures increased (p<0.01). EPO-pretreatment prevented the increase in AOPP in the liver (p<0.05) but was ineffective in PTZ-induced SA changes in the heart and kidney. Conclusion: We think that the increase in the heart SA level in seizures is an original finding and deserves investigation in the context of seizure-related cardiac arrhytmias. Also, despite the EPO’s anti-seizure effect, increased protein oxidaiton and prolidase, especially in the kidney, is an other important finding that needs further research.Öğe İlk Başvuru Noktası Aile Hekimliği Polikliniği Olan Özel Bir Hastanede Birim Maliyetin Poliklinik Bazında Hesaplanması(İnönü Üniversitesi, 2020) Kaptanoğlu, Ayşegül; Mert, AlpaslanBu çalışma, polikliniklerde birim maliyetleri pratik bir şekilde hesaplama yöntemini içerir. With Reference to Physician’s Empathy: Private Hospitals Scenario(Cureus, 2021) Ölmez, Emir Hasan; Alpaslan, Mert; Kaptanoğlu, AyşegülPurpose This study aims at understanding the empathy of doctors and the perception level of patients about it. The survey was conducted including doctors and patients who were cured by these doctors. Methods Patient's Perception Scale of Physician Empathy and Jefferson Scale of Physician Empathy were applied to 70 physicians who worked at 35 private hospitals in Istanbul and 420 patients who received health services from these physicians. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 24.0 program (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY) was used for statistical analysis. Results Physicians who worked in the internal medicine department had more empathy toward the patients. Physicians who were new to the medical profession or who were young had higher empathy levels. Patients who received health services perceived that the surgeons had more empathy. Moreover, it was found that the empathy perception among the educated patients was significantly higher towards physicians. Conclusion The perception level of patients for empathy depends directly on the empathy developed by the doctors. Providing better working conditions for the physicians and preparing the educational plans to increase the health information of patients could improve the physician's empathy with the patients and patient will get better health services.
