Özet
Bu Tez Çalõşmasõ dört bölümden oluşmakta olup, Türkiye-AB İlişkileri kapsamõnda, Türkiye nin Avrupa da oluşturulmasõ gereken imajõ doğrutusundaki temel sorunlar ve çözüm önerileri ele alõnmõştõr. Birinci bölümde; AB nin Tarihsel Gelişimi ve Türkiye, İkinci bölümde; İmaj kavramõnõn tanõmõ ve Türkiye nin Avrupa daki İmajõ kapsamõnda konuya ilişkin değerlendirmeler, Türkiye deki ve Avrupa daki siyasetçilerin, sivil toplum örgütlerinin ve toplumlarõn bakõş açõlarõ altõnda ele alõnmaktadõr. Üçüncü bölümde ise Türkiye nin Avrupa daki İmajõ nõ zedelediği öngörülen unsurlar belitilmekte olup, dördüncü bölümde de belirtilen bu hususlara yönelik çözüm önerileri sunulmaktadõr. Türkiye nin Avrupa da İmajõ iyi düzeyde değildir. Bu hipotez, Türkiye nin AB ile İlişkileri nin ciddileşmesini sağlayan 1963 Ankara (Ortaklõk) Antlaşmasõ ile günümüze kadar ki Türkiye-AB İlişkileri incelenerek doğrulanmaya çalõşõlmaktadõr. Bunun için de, Türkiye deki çeşitli kesimlerin AB ye bakõşõ ve AB ndeki farklõ çevrelerin Türkiye hakkõndaki varolan görüşleri çerçevesinde açõklanmaya çalõşõlmaktadõr.
This master s thesis comprises four parts, and analyses the basic problems and suggestions for solutions concerning the image of Turkey within the framework of its membership to the EU. In the first part, the history of the EU and Turkey are handled. In the second part, the concept of image is defined, and a variety of opinions and assessments from politicians both domestic and abroad and from NGOs are elaborated on. The third part deals with the elements that are thought to damage the image of Turkey in Europe. The fourt part presents possible suggestions to solve the above mentioned problems. Turkey does not possess a positive image in Europe. This hypothesis is verified on the basic of the analysis of the relations taking place between the EU and Turkey from the 1963 Ankara Aggrement to the present day. Within this context, the viewpoints of various circles in Turkey about the EU and those in Europe about Turkey are reflected in this study, thus trying to verify the hypothesis of this research.
