Özet
Amerikan Sinemasının (temsil anlamında) en önemli türünü oluşturan western örneklerini ülkemizde görmek ilginçtir ve doğudaki bir başka ülkede de bizdeki kadar yaygın örnek çıkmamıştır.Sinemamızın en büyük ivmeyi kazandığı Yeşilçam Dönemi yılları içinde, 1962-1973 yılları arasında western olarak tanımlanabilecek 61 adet ürün ortaya çıkmıştır. Neden başladığı, böylesi bir yükseliş kazandığı sorusuna verilecek yanıt benim çalışma konum oldu. Ve bu nedenle kırk yıl sonra yapılan Yahşi Batı filmi ilgimi çekti, bu film Türk sinemasının yaşadığı bu süreci hatırlattı.Böylece, dönemin en ünlü yıldızları dahil tüm Yeşilçam oyuncuları, örneğin 1966'da Yılmaz Atadeniz'in yönettiği "Kovboy Ali" filminde Yılmaz Güney'in bile göründüğü bu süreç üzerine bu belgesel ortaya çıktı. Olayın hem sinema hem sosyoloji, toplumsal hayat ile ilgisi de belki bu belgeselde ortaya konmuş olacaktır.
