dc.description.abstractBu araştırmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinde sosyal kaygı düzeyinin benlik saygısı düzeyi ile arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymaktır. Ayrıca belirlenen sosyodemografik özelliklerin sosyal kaygı düzeyi ve benlik saygısına etki edip etmediğini ortaya koymak bir diğer amaçtır. Araştırmanın örneklemini üniversitede eğitim gören 168 kişi oluşturmaktadır Araştırmada sosyodemografik özellikleri değerlendiren bir veri formu, Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği ve Liebowitz Sosyal Kaygı Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda bireylerin benlik saygısı düzeyleri ile sosyal kaygı puanları arasında zayıf oranda pozitif yönde ancak istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olmayan bir ilişki; benlik saygısı düzeyleri ile kaygı puanları arasında da aynı şekilde zayıf oranda pozitif yönde ancak istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olmayan bir ilişki olduğu bulunmuştur. Nitekim benlik saygısı düzeyleri ile kaçınma puanları arasında zayıf oranda, pozitif yönde, istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir.
dc.description.abstractAim of this research is to present the relationship between level of social anxiety and self-esteem among university students. In addition, another purpose is to present how determined sociodemographic features effect the level of social anxiety and self-esteem. The sample of the research consists of 168 people studying at university. In this research a sociodemographic data form, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale were applied. As a result of the research; a weak, positively and statistically insignificant relationship was found between the levels of self-esteem and social anxiety. A weak, positively and statistically insignificant relationship was found between the levels of self-esteem and anxiety as well. Nonetheless a weak, positively and statistically significant relationship was found between self-esteem and avoidance.
