dc.description.abstractVedat Türkali, günümüzde adını daha çok edebiyat alanında verdiği ürünleriyle duyurmuştur. Oysa geniş okuyucu kitlesi bulan romanlarının öncesinde, Yeşilçam'da özellikle toplumsal gerçekçi filmlere imza atmış bir senarist olarak bilinmekteydi. Bu tezin amacı, Vedat Türkali'nin sinema alanındaki üretimlerini irdelemek ve Türk sinemasına toplumsal gerçekçilik bağlamındaki katkılarını ortaya koymaktır. Ayrıca tezin içerisinde, Vedat Türkali'nin sinemamızda ?Akıl Hocası? olarak adlandırılmasının sebepleri ve sinema emekçilerinin haklarını savunmaları için oynadığı rol gösterilmektedir. 1960'ların siyasal ortamında toplumsal gerçekçi temaları işleyen film üretimlerinin ömrünün çok uzun olmadığı anlaşılmaktadır. 1960'lı yılların ortalarına gelindiğinde, sansürün ağır baskısı ve sinemamızın çarpık endüstrisi nedeniyle birçok yönetmen ve senarist toplumsal temalı üretimlerden uzak kalmayı tercih etmiştir. Vedat Türkali, bütün bu elverişsiz koşullara rağmen ısrarla sürdürdüğü toplumcu çizgisi nedeniyle Yeşilçam'da ayrı bir konum kazanmıştır. Toplumsal gerçekçi film üretimleri, yaygınlığını kaybetse de, bugüne kadar Türkiye sinemasında farklı düzeylerde görünmeye devam etmektedir.
dc.description.abstractVedat Türkali has mostly got famous with his writings in literature. However before his novels which have met with a large group of readers, he was known as a scriptwriter of social realist movies in Yeşilçam. The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the productions of Vedat Türkali in the field of cinema and to reveal his contributions to Turkish cinema in terms of social realism. Besides within the dissertation, it was shown the reason of his calling as ?mentor? in our cinema and his role in defending the rights of cinema workers. It is clear that the life time of social realist cinema was not so long in the political spirit of 1960?s Through the mid of 1960s, since the heavy pressure of censorship laws and the crooked cinema industry, many directors and script writers chose to stay away from productions regarding social themes. Vedat Türkali, because he persistently maintained his socialist line in spite of all these inconvenient circumstances, earned a distinct position in Yeşilçam. Today, although social realist genre lost its influence, social realist movie productions are still viewed in the cinema field in Turkey.
