dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada, Kuzey Kafkasya bölgesi ve bölgedeki etnik çeşitliliği en yüksek özerk cumhuriyet olan Dağıstan jeopolitik ve jeostratejik açıdan incelenmiştir. Bölgede bugün yaşanan sorunların kaynağına inilerek tarihsel bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Bölgeye atfedilen önem itibariyle, farklı dönemlerde Kuzey Kafkasya'nın sahne olduğu güç çekişmelerine yer verilerek bağımsızlık hareketleri incelenmiştir. Değişen küresel koşulların, Rusya Federasyonu (RF) ve Kuzey Kafkasya'yı doğrudan etkilediği günümüz dünyasında, Rusya Federasyonu'nun "güvenlik" algısından bahsedilmiştir. Ayrıca bölgede yaşananların Rusya Federasyonu üzerindeki etkisi ve Rusya Federasyonu'nun izlediği politikaların bölgeye etkisi değerlendirilmiştir. Rusya Federasyonu'nun fiziki olarak varlık göstermeye başladığı tarihten itibaren sonlanmayan ve günümüzde potansiyel bir çatışma alanı olmanın ötesinde güvenlik kaygılarının hat safhaya çıktığı hassas bir bölge haline gelen Kuzey Kafkasya'da sorunların çözümüne ilişkin öneriler geliştirilerek çalışma sonlandırılmıştır.
dc.description.abstractThis study attempts to examine the North Caucasus Region and the autonomous Republic of Dagestan, which is the ethnically most diverse republic, from the geopolitical and geostrategical perspectives. It also provides a historical evaluation of the current problems in the region tracing back to much earlier. The fight for liberation has also been elaborated in details by mentioning the power struggles faced in the North Caucasus at different periods of time, as such fight has a great valve on the Political structure of the territory. In the modern world, where constantly changing global situations, the study additionaly mentions about Russian Federation with regard to the matter of security in the region. This attempt assesses both how the current ongoing issves effect Russian Federation and how the Political strategies of Russia influences the region back, as well. The study concludes with suggestions to the problems of the North Caucasus. Since Russian Federation started to show it self as physically in the ragion, the North Caucasus was a field of conflict in the same time it was a sensitive area with securty concerns.
