Bu belgesel filmde, İstanbullu Rumlar özelinde Türk sinemasında İstanbul'un vatan ve yurt olarak yeri değerlendirilmekte ve İstanbul'a aidiyet bağı olan azınlıklardan Rumların sinemadaki temsiliyeti ele alınmaktadır. Cumhuriyet döneminde Rumların İstanbul'dan göç etmelerine yol açan olaylar ve yaptırımların Türk sinemasına konu oluşu çerçevesinde, göç eden Rumlarla yapılan görüşmelerle yaşadıkları süreçler, İstanbul'dan gidişleri, aidiyet bağları ve şehre bakışları aktarılmaktadır. Şimdiye kadar sinemada fon olarak pek çok yönüyle temsil edilen İstanbul'un, Rumlar bağlamında son dönem Türk sinemasında yurt olarak konumlanışı ifade edilmeye çalışılmıştır.
In this documentary film, the importance of İstanbul as a homeland particularly from the point of view of Greek origin minorities of Istanbul is being considered and the representation in motion pictures of Greek minorities who have a sense of belonging to Istanbul is being discussed. Within the frame of featuring in Turkish cinema the incidents and sanctions during early republican period which caused Greek origin minorities to evacuate Istanbul, the processes, moving from Istanbul, sense of belonging and outlook on the City of the Greek minorities are being narrated through the interviews carried out with such individuals. Istanbul, which has been represented up to the present through many perspectives as a background in cinema is endeavored to be expressed in this documentary in the context of Greek origin minorities who adopted Istanbul as a homeland in recent Turkish cinema.
