dc.description.abstractÇağdaş İngiliz edebiyatı ve dünya edebiyatının Nobel ödüllü en önemli yazarlarından biri olan V.S. Naipaul'un Nehrin Dönemeci adlı romanı Afrika üzerine yazılmış, politik ve toplumsal özellikleri yansıtan en önemli eserlerinden biridir. Bu çalışmada, sömürgeleştirilen Afrika ve Afrika toplumları sömürge ve sömürge sonrası söylem ışığında ele alınarak incelenecektir. Tez çalışması boyunca niteliksel arama teknikleri kullanılarak literatür taraması gerçekleştirilmiştir. V.S Naipaul, sömürge sonrası bir yazar olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bundan dolayı, Naipaul'un eserindeki sömürge dünyası karakterleri ve anlatıcısı tarafından yapılan eleştirinin aynı zamanda sömürgecinin de eleştirisini yaptığını ortaya çıkarabilmek için sömürgecilik sonrası kuramsal bakış açılarından faydalanılmıştır.
dc.description.abstractOne of the most important Nobel-winning writer of contemporary English and World literature, V.S. Naipaul's A Bend in the River, is one of the most important novel which reflects political and social characteristics about Africa. In this study, colonized Africa and societies of Africa will be examined in the light of colonial and post-colonial discourse. During the thesis study, literature search was performed by using the qualitative research methods. V.S. Naipaul is considered as a post-colonial write. Therefore, post-colonial theoretical perspective has been used to reveal that the criticism of the characters and narrator of the colonial world in the novel of Naipaul is also the criticism of the colonialist.
