Öğe THE ADAPDATION PROCESS OF EUROPEN UNION HEALTH RENEWALS AND APLIANCES IN OUR COUNTRY(Int Scientific Conference Sgem, 2010) Temizyurek, KamilTurkey is on its way to becoming full member of European Union. Candidate countries should make some reforms on all sectors included health. The pay of the government budget for health establishments is limited. Eventhough it is central planning for healthcare it is mostly fail to be effective because of the economic reasons or practical delays. However health establishments and local administrations supports and adds it works out to deliver healthcare services for all layers of society. In this research it shows the supports and the adds of healthcare services and local administrations that are parallel the adaptation process of European Union. All the hard works and reforms for health sector either government or other establishments do to fight with remediable diseases are not fully successfull enough for EU. However all the efforts to get it right have been noticed. For the result of this research citizens should have more sensibility on environment and health literacy.Öğe COMPARISON OF DIFFERENT PROGRAMMES UNIVERSITY IN TERMS OF ENVIRONMENT LITERACY(Int Scientific Conference Sgem, 2009) Temizyurek, Kamil; Colakoglu, NurdanTwenty first Century witnessed rapid advance of technology and resultant extravagant use of technological products by people. Unconscious and extravagant use of technology products rapidly pollutes the environment, where we live. Accelerated environmental pollution, including both alive and non-alive nature which in fact serves partially for alive functions, is most serious problem of our age Global Warming, recently started to be argued, and resultant drawbacks are, in fact, continuum of environmental and global problems created by human being for year. This study investigates the literacy levels of university students in the subsets of environment and health. Students health consciousness was studied as well as their awareness of environmental protection measures. In addition, their opinions on the effect of global warming, on natural life, the environment and health were investigated. Literacy levels within groups as well as among different programs were examined in terms of following: 1. Scientific Illiteracy (or little level), 2.Nominal Scientific Literacy, 3. Interactive or Conceptual-Procedural Scientific Literacy, 4. Critical Literacy or Multi-dimensional Scientific Literacy.Öğe DETERMINATION OF HOW UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS PERCEIVE H1N1 AND THEIR LEVEL OF HEALTH LITERACY(Int Scientific Conference Sgem, 2010) Temizyurek, Kamil; Firlar, TalatIn last years education and literacy of health becomes important in our country and in the world. The flu of H1N1 which appears in 2009 is known that it is contagius and causes sensations around the world. This brings out different perceptions in the society even in the heralthcare services. Determinate the percieve of H1N1 and the level of health literacy for people in the society is an important fact. This study is for to inform undergraduate students about this disease and also determine their level of health literacy. This health literacy is consisted by 4 steps such as: 1. Illeteracy Health 2. Nominal Health Literacy 3. Interactive or Conceptual-Procedural Health Literacy 4. Critical Health Literacy or Multi-dimentional Health Literacy This study is based on the undergraduate students in one of the university in Istanbul and it is determined how they perceive H1N1 and their level of health literacy. The SPSS statistic method is used on this research and it shows that the results of level of literacies are under expectations. It is explained that what things to be done to take this level higher.Öğe THE DIFFERENT PARADIGMS AT HEALTH; ENVIRONMENTAL AND HEALTH LITERACY(Int Scientific Conference Sgem, 2010) Temizyurek, KamilHuman being; having the memory abilty, the capacity to percieve the present and the experience, has the capability to develop an understanding which determines the line of behavior. Every society has a health concept which reflects its history, cultural values, economic and which determines the health service systems. The hospital designes have shown a constant change due to the transition to settled life, the developments in science, technology and architecture, the transformation pressure of other economic and social areas and the developing health and illness concept. The architectures have constantly renewed their designs as a result of the suggestions of the doctors who constantly spent their times in the hospital buildings, the discovery of the micro organisms and the researches regarding the effects of the hospital environment on the patients. The studies on determination of the criterion for the ideal hospital area and development of the methodology for selection of the area have initiated. It is understood that the hospitals affect the recevery with the attitudes of their workers, business processes, architectural designs and environmental factors. In this paper, the new approaches and concepts which affect the functions and designs of hospitals have been examined and the effects of those to the hospital functions, landcapes, quality criterion and care functions have been analyzed. Also in this study, comparison was trying to make between participants on the issue of information source and primary reason of environmental awareness. This study was made face to face with the participants and the results were achieved by using Likert skala method. Results with SPSS statistical methods are examined. Thus, we tried to determine the Environmenment and Health Literacy of the participants, and at the same time we examined their opinions, attitudes and behaviour towards the sources of environment related in formation.Öğe TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT AND PATIENT SATISFACTION RELATION(Int Scientific Conference Sgem, 2009) Temizyurek, KamilIn medical sector, the expectation of both hospital administration and patients is quite much today, in parallel with the rapid development of information technologies. The increment in culture and consciousness level of people increases their better medical service taking wish. This situation is possible with more qualified service given by the foundations offering medical service and being satisfied of the service customers from the service they have taken. In total quality management; various parameters are effective such as the offering method of the service, the continuity of the service and the satisfactoriness and sensitivity of the medical staff. Furthermore, the patient right and health literacy levels of the service customers should be high. The determination of the patient satisfaction depending on the environment and health sensitivity level of both medical foundations and patients is the main aim of this research. In this study, a sensitivity survey has been applied to the patients in a public medical foundation. The relations between total quality management and patient satisfaction have been examined by considering the questioning done with different parameters and the results obtained from the findings.
