Öğe Examining the Financial Literacy of Healthcare Professionals: A Research on a Provincial Health Directorate(Aves, 2024) Ozyesil, Mustafa; Tembelo, Havane; Sur, HaydarAIM: This research aimed to assess the financial literacy levels of healthcare professionals working at a Provincial Health Directorate and examine their relationships with various financial domains. METHODS: The study utilized a cross-sectional online survey. The financial literacy scale was employed to assess the financial knowledge and compentencies of healthcare professionals, providing a structured evaluation of their understandig across various financial domains. Statistical analyses, including correlation analysis, independent samples t-test, and one-way ANOVA, were performed using SPSS-25 and R programs. RESULTS: A total of 240 participants took part, comprising 52.1% males and 47.9% females, aged between 20 and 65 years. Younger healthcare professionals (p=.017) and males (p=.001) demonstrated higher financial literacy levels. Significant correlations were found between financial literacy and domains such as investment instruments, debt and risk management, and personal finance management. Weak but positive relationships were observed between financial literacy and digital assets, indicating emerging trends in digital finance awareness. For instance, males exhibited higher proficiency in investment instruments and debt management, while younger professionals displayed higher knowledge in investment areas. CONCLUSION: The findings underscore the importance of targeted financial education for healthcare professionals, highlighting the need for sector-specific training programs. Enhanced financial literacy is essential for improving financial decision-making, ultimately benefiting both personal financial well-being and professional performance in the healthcare sector.Öğe Financial well-being and happiness at work: A study on pharmacy faculty academics(Marmara Univ, Fac Pharmacy, 2023) Ozyesil, Mustafa; Tembelo, HavaneThis study examines the impact of financial well-being on happiness levels at work among academics in the Faculty of Pharmacy. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing an online survey to collect data from 209 participants working at foundation and public universities in Istanbul. The survey, based on a 5-point Likert scale, measures financial well-being and happiness levels at work. The significance of this research lies in its contribution to understanding the dynamics between financial well-being and workplace happiness, an area underexplored in the literature. Regression analysis reveals a significant and negative relationship between financial well-being and happiness at work. The R-square value (14.6%) indicates that financial well-being explains a limited portion of the variance in happiness levels, suggesting the presence of other influential factors. These findings underscore the importance of financial well-being in enhancing overall workplace happiness. Organizations are encouraged to develop strategies that address employees' financial concerns, thereby fostering a more productive and satisfied workforce. This study contributes to the broader discourse on work psychology by highlighting the critical role of financial stability in achieving workplace happiness.Öğe The relationship between digital financial literacy and financial behaviors of pharmacy faculty students: A comprehensive evaluation through structural equation model(Istanbul Medipol University, 2025) Özyeşil, Mustafa; Tembelo, HavaneThis study aims to assess the relationship between financial literacy levels and digital financial skills among pharmacy faculty students. Conducted with students from pharmacy faculties in Istanbul, the research utilizes a dataset comprising factors like demographic characteristics, financial conditions, and digital financial literacy levels. The analysis, employing Structural Equation Modeling, elucidates the connections between financial literacy and digital financial skills. Significant correlations have been identified between young adults’ financial behaviors and digital financial attitudes. This research con-tributes to the broader understanding of financial literacy, particularly under-scoring the interplay between traditional financial literacy and digital financial literacy. The findings reveal notable correlations and contradictions with exist-ing literature in the domain of financial literacy, as related to digital financial literacy and pharmacy students’ financial behaviors. The multifaceted nature of financial literacy, especially in the context of intertwining traditional and digital aspects, has been expanded upon in this study. © 2025, Istanbul Medipol University.
