| dc.description.abstract | Eagle’s Nest: Ismaili Castles in Iran and Syria by Peter Willey is the result of 24 expeditions over 40 years in the regions where the Isma‘ilis ruled in Iran and Syria. The author has spent nearly half a century researching and writing the stories of the fortresses that were of vital importance to the Isma‘ilis. In addition to photographs of the regions he visited, he also increased the importance of the work with maps and plans. Considering the importance of fortresses for the Isma‘ilis, it is possible to characterize the work introduced here as a reference book for research on this group. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Peter Willey tarafından kaleme alınan Eagle’s Nest: Ismaili Castles in Iran and Syria isimli çalışma, 40 yıl boyunda İsmâ‘îlîlerin İran ve Suriye’de hüküm sürdüğü bölgelerde 24 keşif gezisi neticesinde ortaya çıkmış bir eserdir. Yazar, yaklaşık yarım asır kadar araştırma gezisi yaparak İsmâ‘îlîler için hayatî önem taşıyan kalelerin hikâyelerini kaleme almıştır. Gezilen bölgelerin fotoğraflarının yanı sıra harita ve planlar da eserin önemini arttırmıştır. Kalelerin İsmâ‘îlîler için önemi dikkate alındığında burada tanıtılan eseri, söz konusu zümre üzerine yapılan araştırmalarda başucu kitabı olarak nitelendirmek mümkündür. | |
