dc.description.abstractWith this study, it is aimed to examine the positive and negative effects of the attitudes of the people under the influence of global consumption culture on the tendency to buy local touristic products in the accommodation sector and to reveal the factors associated with this trend. The research was carried out on the local people living within the borders of Kuşadası. The data of the research were obtained by using the questionnaire technique prepared with the Global Consumption Culture Scale consisting of 54 items and The Local Touristic Product Purchase Intention Scale consisting of 5 items. In order to understand the content of the concepts in the research, information on culture and global consumption issues and the intention to buy local products are presented in the literature section. In the findings of the study; The data obtained on the effect of the reactions of the local people living in the Kuşadası district of Aydın province in the face of being affected by the global consumption culture on the local product purchasing behavior were analyzed. As a result of the study, it has been determined that there is a positive moderate effect between the global consumption culture and the intention to purchase local products in the accommodation sector. In addition, significant differences were found in the global consumption culture perception rate of the change in demographic factors such as age, education level and marital status. © 2022, Ebru Bagci.
