In this work, several existing techniques, such as Cell ID, and Signal Strength methods, are applied to field measurements that were done in the real commercial GSM network in Istanbul. Then, the Database Correlation Method (DCM) and Kalman Filtering are applied to locate the subscriber. Different methods are compared. The method used in this work is not imposing any modifications in the mobile units, thus it may be implemented easily. Significant improvements in the results are obtained after post processing the measurement results.en_US
