Özet
Central banks are extremely important institutions responsible from the coinage, monetary policy applications and healthy operations of the economies. The policies applied by Central Banks and their ongoing corporate structures cannot be disassociated from the political, social and the whole economic developments of the countries in which they are located. The concept of the central bank, which has been in development since the twentieth century first appeared in Turkey in the 1930s. In this chapter the monetary policies of the Central Bank and their effects on the Turkish economy are discussed in periods by examining the concept of the Central Bank of Turkey and its aims. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014.
