dc.description.abstractIt is clear that there is a concrete relationship between inflation and living conditions. Due to the increase in population density, especially in regions where industry is concentrated, the concept of city life has emerged and all kinds of living conditions have become difficult. In addition to this, the problem of widening the gap between households in terms of income distribution has also emerged. Marmara Region, which is the most important address of migration from villages to cities, has been the subject of more research than other regions and will continue to be. In this study, it is aimed to examine whether the data of the consumer price index data for the whole of Turkey between 2006-2021 and the Gini coefficients of the Marmara Region, which is the most important indicator of income inequality, have mutual effects for the Marmara region, which is the most populated region of Turkey. In the study, it was deemed appropriate to choose the Marmara Region, due to its dense population factor and dense industrial area, and because it is a combination of the living conditions and income distributions of all regions in Turkey. In the research, the data obtained from the "Income and Living Conditions" survey of the Marmara Region of Tuik and the annual CPI data of the whole of Turkey were analyzed, and the relations of these two variables were investigated with cointegration, correlation and causality tests. By interpreting the results obtained, a regression model was studied to predict the future changes of the two variables. Eviews 12 program was used in the analysis. © 2022, Ebru Bagci.
