| dc.description.abstract | The invention of photography has launched the discovery of a series that made the first movies possible. Thus, the filmmakers have mostly followed a simple path, when they were creating the first movies: Found an interesting topic for shooting and the simple states of events were recorded. Nevertheless, aligning the shoots in accordance with the story has revealed the term of “editing”. The directors have began to try new methods of expression in this way. Because editing is a method of a expression that is specific to the language of film. Another common definition used for editing is “montage”. “Editor” or “Cutter” expressions are used in cinema and television for the persons that organize images and sounds. An editor practices his/her artistic and technical skills to combine independent of each other shots in post-production process. A team that composed from an editor and editing assistants can work in a cinema film. However in productions for television, there are mostly one or two editor in the editing process. Working conditions are changeable in television. Therefore, editor may also be a person or persons who manage the entire editing process in some productions. The purpose of the study, is to reveal the recent changes and issues in the occupation of editors. In the study, a survey was made due to the inadequacy of academic resources for professional problems. In this context, the survey questions were prepared for the problems of the profession and working conditions. In the analysis of the questions, “SPSS for Windows” software was used. Survey is a study of descriptive type and the analysis is done with editors that work in different areas is the main constraint of the research. | dc.description.abstract | Fotoğrafın icadı, ilk filmleri olanaklı kılan bir dizi keşfi başlatmıştır. Nitekim sinemacılar ilk filmleri oluştururken çoğunlukla basit bir yol izlemiştir: Çekim için ilginç bir konu bulunmuş ve olayların yalın halleri kayıt altına alınmıştır. Bununla birlikte, çekimlerin öykü ile uyumlu bir biçimde sıralanması, “kurgu” kavramını ortaya çıkarmıştır. Böylelikle yönetmenler yeni anlatım yöntemlerini denemeye başlamıştır. Anket çalışması, betimsel türde bir çalışmadır ve analizin farklı alanlarda çalışan kurgucular ile yapılması araştırmanın temel kısıtıdır.
