Özet
Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are remarkable and innovative materials that enable detection in broad perspectives and can be integrated into many systems. Molecular imprinting has a simple but effective core logic based on polymer synthesis that takes the shape of the target molecule. It has become possible to make precise detections thanks to cavities that are exceptionally specific to the target molecule and thus, MIPs has managed to play a leading role in many popular studies in the field of biotechnology. MIPs also can be easily adapted to material designs in nano dimensions and has already been tried on many nanomaterial-based detection platforms. As a great example of these platforms, sensor systems take a step ahead of conventional systems in rapid and in situ detections by using MIPs in a broad range of applications. MIP-used sensor systems have continued to offer new perspectives with unique advantages for virus detection and steadily take their place in the literature. In this chapter, MIP-based sensors used in various virus detections have been compiled and presented in detail to enlighten further research. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
