Öğe The effect of integrated marketing communication competencies on banking performance: Analysis with fuzzy vikor method(National Academy of Management, 2013) Dinçer H.; Hacio?lu Ü.; Yilmaz R.Chain reaction of bank failures in advanced economies and the possibility of sovereign defaults are still the major concerns as credit default swap spreads breaking new records high. Moreover, the latest policy steps by banking authorities in advanced economies seem to have negative effect on banking performance. Fierce competition at financial market with relatively little profit, plus the new with-drawal mechanism regulations for low performance banks have resulted in a limited growth of banks at capital markets. IMC approach as a strategic tool aligns effective marketing strategies with successful corporate strategies. The result of fuzzy VIKOR analysis adapted in this study illustrate (i) effective banking performance depends on financial and nonfinancial parameters, (ii) effective marketing activities enhance performance, (iii) IMC is a strategic kit for aligning marketing operations and strategies, (iv) IMC approach with its competencies outperforms competing banks, (v) stock performance of the banks with IMC approach determines the banking position. © Hasan Dincer, Umit Hacioglu, Recep Yilmaz, 2013.Öğe The financial implications of corporate social responsibility in the banking sector(Springer International Publishing, 2014) Dincer H.; Celik I.E.; Yilmaz R.; Hacioglu Ü.Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a recent and popular term used to establish an understanding between corporations and social environment. Fundamentally based on the framework of Two Way Symmetrical Model, these activities conducted to raise corporate reputation and thus, ensure credibility have gained importance in public relations. This research aims to analyse corporate social responsibility activities of deposit banks operate in Istanbul Stock Exchange based on various financial indicators. The main objective, however, is to identify the importance banks place on institutionalization in their promotions and its consequences. This research observes that banks that do not place importance on promotional activities have lower profit margins, whereas those that only make effort for advertising and public relations hardly compensate their expenses; the highest profit margin is achieved by banks that co-ordinately use both promotional methods. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014. It aims to explain the relationship between language and leadership. In this theoretical essay, firstly, the concept of leadership is discussed and then the relationship between semiotics, language, and discourse is described. Taking the obtained theoretical frame as a base, the function of language as a sign of leadership is studied within the frame of leadership approaches. The relationship stated in the study provides a theoretical route map for the academicians conducting empirical studies in this field, and this is the reason why this study is authentic and unique. With the effects of globalization rapidly increasing, the considerations of leadership have also changed, and new leadership typologies have emerged to supply the needs of the information age. Both at home and abroad, language skills and good command of language provide a global and competitive advantage for leaders, and this increases the significance of acquiring the skills mentioned. © 2014 by IGI Global.
