Öğe The effect of COVID-19 pandemic on university education: Adoption of e-learning and testing the technology acceptance model(Korean Educational Developmental Inst, 2022) Akin, Bahar; Boztoprak, Hasan; Guzey, Yildiz Yilmaz; Suslu, MuratThis study aims to investigate the factors affecting the acceptance of e-learning among university students, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to reveal the factors affecting the reasons for students to use e-learning systems. We adopted the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to understand better the adoption of e-learning systems by university students. We gathered data from 716 university students who received distance education during the pandemic and used SPSS 22.0, AMOS 22.0 and SmartPLS 3.3 software to perform statistical analyses. The findings indicate that compatibility is related to perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Moreover, attitude is influenced by perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. The results reveal the importance of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, self-learning necessity, and compatibility on intention to use.Öğe Impact of corporate governance principles on women's quality work environment attitudes: A neo-institutional perspective(Ural State Univ Economics, 2023) Guzey, Yildiz Yilmaz; Ugras, BorayMainstream institutional theories and corporate governance studies are entwined with patriarchal business relationships. However, within the theories the gender factor and benefits of the institutionalization process and corporate governance principles in terms of women's employment in organizations have not been fully investigated. In addition, whether corporate governance principles are an effective tool to keep women in working life has not received sufficient attention in the literature. The paper aims to explore the contribution of institutionalization process and corporate governance interaction to employment and working environment quality with respect to female employees in the labour market where patriarchal labour relations are dominant. To achieve this purpose, the authors designed a questionnaire to compare gender groups in organizations that have adopted the principles of institutionalization and corporate governance. The total of 506 employees actively working in organizations in Turkey participated in the survey. Respondents' answers were analysed using the structural equation models in the SPSS statistical program. The research findings revealed that the institutionalization process has a partial mediation effect on women's attitude to quality of work environment. On the other hand, it was determined that corporate governance principles have no moderator effect on women's attitude to work environment quality. The findings demonstrate that as the transparency and professionalization levels increase, women tend to prefer the organizations more. Compared to men, female managers and assistants embrace transparency and professionalization as a distinguishing quality of an efficient organization. Since corporate governance principles strengthen women's employment in organizations in terms of equal wages and career opportunities, managers need to consider these principles as a substantial element of a company's activities.Öğe Industrial Drivers of Co-opetition Among Organizations: A Sector-Based Research Within the Context of Population Ecology Approach(Springer International Publishing Ag, 2020) Boztoprak, Hasan; Mutlu, Nusret Erhan; Suslu, Murat; Guzey, Yildiz YilmazCo-opetition is the term which defines a hybrid behavior comprising competition and cooperation concurrently. Co-opetition strategy extends the traditional rules of competition and collaboration strategies. In this paper, we aimed to explain the co-opetition relationship between rivals by using the assumptions of the population ecology approach. We have collected data from two industries having different levels of entrant and exiting rates to compare population-originated drivers of co-opetitive relationships. We have evaluated generally the effect of entering and exiting of rivals in the industry on co-opetition tendency of firms in both industries. To embody the assumptions of population ecology approach, we have used age, size, and niche width of organizations. By compassion two industries we found that there is no difference among industries for getting co-opetition against entering and exiting of rivals in the industry in general. Despite age and size of firms does not lead to difference among industries, niche width is important for the firms in construction sector for getting co-opetition.
