Özet
Öğretim, sadece kuru bilgilerin aktarılması değildir. Okula karsı, topluma karsı, insanlara karsı sevgi, saygı ve onları tanıma hep öğretmen aracılığı ile kazanılır. Tavırların, düsünce biçimlerinin ve dünya görüslerinin olusmasında öğretmenin rolü büyüktür. Basarılı öğretmen; öğrencisini dersin ve eğitimin amaçlarına ulastıran, yeniliklere açık, arastıran, gelismeleri takip eden, günümüz teknolojik imkanlarını kullanan ve öğrencileriyle iyi iletisim kuran kisidir. Basarılı öğretmenin en fazla endise duyması gereken konu, öğrencilerin öğrenme problemlerine en uygun öğretim yöntemleriyle cevap verme problemidir. Bu konuda çok çesitli öğretim yöntemleri ve uygulamaları olduğu gibi farklı yaklasımlar da bulunmaktadır. Dünyadaki otomasyon, iletisim araçları, bilgisayarlar, uluslararası iliskiler, yeni buluslar, fen ve teknik alanlarındaki ilerlemeler gibi faktörler insanları hızla gelisen yüzyılın dinamizmine ayak uydurmaya zorlamaktadır. Bu hızlı gelismelere uyum sağlamanın en etkin ve temel aracı ise süphesiz ?eğitim?dir. Geleceğin ortamı, özellikle eğitim-öğretim hata ve eksikliklerinin telafisine imkan vermeyecek bir dinamizm kazanacaktır. Teknolojik gelismelere bağlı olarak eğitim-öğretim sistem ve metotlarındaki gelismeleri karsılayabilmek maksadı ile eğitim yatırımlarına kaynak tahsisi özellikle önem arz etmektedir. Nitekim tecrübeler göstermektedir ki, okul günlerinden en çok hatırlanan öğretmenler genellikle derslerinde mümkün olduğunca çok fazla muhtevayı ya da bilgi kategorilerini öğrencilerine olduğu gibi aktaranlar değil, fakat söz konusu bu bilgilerin nerede ve nasıl kullanılacağını ya da bu bilgiler ile nasıl düsünüleceğini öğretenlerdir. Çünkü, eğer öğrenciler depolamakta oldukları bilgilerle düsünmeyi öğrenemezlerse, gerçek anlamda o bilgilere sahip değildirler.
Teaching is not simply delivering knowledge and information. Teachers are the means of learning respect and sympathy to the society and people around us. They have a great role in formation of attitudes, thoughts and philosophy of life. A successful teacher is the one who is open for new horizons, following new developments, using the available facilities, having a good communication with the students and letting his students and courses to reach the desired objectives. The critical issue concerning a successful teacher is to select the best proper methods toward the learning problems of the students. There are several different teaching methods and implementations in this issue. Automation, communication devices, computers, international relations, innovations, scientific and technical developments force the people to keep up with this fast dynamism. ?Education? is certainly the most effective and basic mean of keeping up with these dynamism. Dynamism of upcoming future may not allow the compensation of mistakes and deficiencies in education and training. That is why, it is especially important to allocate sufficient funds and investments in education to meet the demands of education and training systems and methods to be used in this dynamic environment. However, experiences have indicated that the most remembered teachers were the ones who were able to teach how to adopt the learned-knowledge into life and practice and how to think with this knowledge instead of the ones directly overloading students with vast amount of information and knowledge.
