Özet
Toplumun gelişmişlik seviyesinin göstergelerinden olan hak ve hukuk konularında devletlerin ileri düzeyleri, toplumun müreffeh bir yere geldiğinin kanıtı olarak kabul görmektedir. Gelişmişlik düzeyinin bir diğer konusu da sağlıktır. Sağlık hizmeti alan hastaların hak ve hukuklarını düzenleyen hasta hakları konusu bu iki gelişmişlik düzeyinin adeta mihenk taşıdır. Teknolojik gelişmelerin dünyayı bir evin içerisi gibi gösterdiği bir çağda özel hayatın sınırlarının bilinmesi gerekir. Özellikle çaresiz kalma konusunda hasta olan bireylerin bu sınırları daha bir önem kazanmaktadır. Hammurabi kanunları ile başlayan hasta hakları ile ilgili yasal düzenlemeler, son dönemlerde bilgi çağındaki iletişim olanakların çoğalmasına bağlı olarak sürekli güncellenen bir konudur. Hasta hakları, mahremiyet ve özel hayatın gizliliği konuları ile ilgili sorun ve çözüm önerileri önemini korumaktadır. Global dünyada bu konuların yeniden araştırılıp yorumlanması gerekmektedir. Hak kavramının gelişen hukuk sistemlerinde yeniden tarifi ile hasta hakları, mahremiyet konuları da sürekli yenilenen konular arasındadır.
