| dc.description.abstract | Wall painting or mural -widespread English equivalent has become one of the popular and interesting art activities of today. Those who accept wall paintings as an art participate in tours to see them in the city, and the municipalities that organize festivals are increasing day by day. Thanks to the wall paintings, it is possible to create attractive and surprising intersections that create the harmony by softening the image on the outer walls of the buildings located in the gloomy, boring, repulsive urban environment. The city of Istanbul has the potential to become famous for itself in the world with its existing murals. Mural festivals supported by municipalities are organized in the city and local and foreign artists bring people together with art. This big metropolis still has many soulless, repulsive and unidentified deaf walls that can be used as canvases. This article is written to illustrate the developing wall painting (mural) by exemplifying the festival organized by the Kadıköy Municipality, Istanbul, to establish its relationship with the city and art. The mural festival, which did not take place in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was held regularly eight times from 2012 to 2019. In the district, where forty-three wall paintings were reached in 2019, these work both meet deaf walls to the city with art and contribute to cultural tourism. The mural festival, which started in 2012 with the aim of reviving the deterioration area of Yeldeğirmeni, an attraction area, was created in the neighborhood and today the murals have spread to other parts of the municipality. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Duvar resmi ya da yaygın İngilizce karşılığıyla mural, günümüzün popüler ve ilgi çeken sanat aktivitelerinden biri olmuştur. Duvar resimlerinin bir sanat olduğunu kabul edenler, kentte onları görmek için turlara katılanlar, festival düzenleyen belediyeler her geçen gün artmaktadır. Duvar resimleri sayesinde kasvetli, sıkıcı, itici kentsel ortamlarda yer alan binaların dış duvarlarında görüntüyü yumuşatarak uyumu yaratan çekici ve sürprizli ara kesitler oluşturmak mümkün olmaktadır. İstanbul kenti de mevcut duvar resimleri ile dünyada adından söz ettirecek potansiyele sahiptir. Kentte belediyelerin de desteklediği duvar resmi ile ilgili festivaller düzenlenmekte ve yerli-yabancı sanatçılar da halkı sanatla buluşturmaktadır. Bu büyük metropolün halen tuval gibi kullanılabilecek çok sayıda gri, boş, sanat uygulamasına açık ve dönüştürülmesi halinde etkili görsel sunum oluşacağı sağır duvarları vardır. Bu yazı İstanbul, Kadıköy Belediyesi tarafından düzenlenen festivali örnekleyerek gelişmekte olan duvar resmini tanıtmak, sanat ve kentle ilişkisini kurmak için kaleme alınmıştır. Covid-19 pandemisi sebebiyle 2020 yılında gerçekleşemeyen mural festivali, 2012’den 2019 yılına dek 8 kez düzenli olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. 2019 yılında kırk üç duvar resmine ulaşılan ilçede, bu eserler hem sağır duvarları sanatla kente kazandırmakta, hem de kültür turizmine katkı sağlamaktadır. 2012 yılında köhneleşmekte olan Yeldeğirmeni bölgesini canlandırmak amacıyla başlayan festival sayesinde bölgede bir çekim alanı oluşmuş ve günümüzde duvar resimleri ilçenin diğer mahallelerine de yayılmıştır. | |
