Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı ortaokul çağı çocuklarında bağlanmanın benlik saygısı üzerindeki etkisini araştırmaktır. Tarama modeli şeklinde yapılan çalışmanın örneklem grubunu İstanbul ilinde yaşayan ve ortaokulda okuyan 100 (44 kız, 56 erkek) rastgele seçilen çocuk oluşturmaktadır.. Araştırmada çocukların, benlik saygısını ölçmek için 'Coopersmith Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği' ile çocukların, bağlanma stillerini ölçmek için; 'İlişkiler Ölçeği Anketi' kullanılmıştır. Ek olarak çocukların sosyodemografik özelliklerini dökümante edebilmek amacıyla araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan bir 'Kişisel Bilgi Formu' da kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizi için SPSS (16.0 ) paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda erkeklerin kızlara oranla benlik saygısı düzeylerinin anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır (p=0.038). Okulda çok başarılı olduğunu düşünen öğrencilerin diğer öğrencilere oranla kayıtsız bağlanma düzeylerinin anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır (p=0.003). Öğrencilerin güvenli bağlanma alt ölçeğinden aldıkları puanlar arttıkça benlik saygısı ölçeğinden alınan puan da anlamlı şekilde artmaktadır (p=0.015). Öğrencilerin saplantılı bağlanma alt ölçeğinden aldıkları puanlar arttıkça benlik saygısı ölçeğinden alınan puan da anlamlı şekilde düşmektedir (p=0.001). Bir sorun karşısında ailesinden destek alan öğrencilerin diğer öğrencilere oranla korkulu bağlanma düzeylerinin anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır (p=0.048). Psikolog veya psikiyatriden yardım almayan öğrencilerin yardım alan öğrencilere oranla benlik saygısı düzeylerinin anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır (p=0.002). Psikolog veya psikiyatriden yardım almayan bireylerin yardım alan bireylere oranla güvenli bağlanma düzeylerinin anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır (p=0.003). Psikolog veya psikiyatriden yardım alan bireylerin yardım almayan bireylere oranla korkulu bağlanma düzeylerinin anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır (p=0.003). Bir bireyin erişkinlik döneminde kendini algılayış biçimi üzerinde erken dönem çocukluk ilişkilerinin olası etkileri nedeniyle bireyin, çocukluk çağındaki bağlanma stilleri ile benlik saygısı arasındaki ilişkinin araştırılması önemlidir. The purpose of this study is to search for the effects of attachment in secondary school level children on self-respect. Sample group of the study with scan model consists of randomly selected 100 (including 44 girls and 56 boys) secondary school level children in Istanbul. 'Coopersmith Self-esteem Scale' was used in order to measure self-esteem of the children and 'Relationships Scale Survey' was used in order to measure attachment styles. Additionally, a 'Personal Information Form' designed by the researcher was also used in order to document socio-demographic attributes of the children. SPSS (16.0) packaged software was used for the analysis of the results obtained. As a result of the research, it was detected that self-esteem level of the boys is significantly higher when compared with the girls (p=0.038). It was also detected that dismissive avoidant level of the students who think that they are highly successful at school are significantly higher when compared with the other students (p=0.003). The more the scores of the students taken from the low scale secured attachment increase, the more the scores taken from self-esteem scale significantly increase (p=0.015). The more the scores of the students taken from the low scale dismissive avoidant increase, the more the scores taken from self-esteem scale significantly decrease (p=0.001). It was detected that fearful attachment levels of the students who get support from their families in case of a problem is significantly higher when compared with the other students (p=0.048). Furthermore, it was detected that self-esteem level of the students who do not get psychological and psychiatric support is significantly higher when compared with the students who get psychological and psychiatric support (p=0.002). It was found that secured attachment level of the students who do not get psychological and psychiatric support is significantly higher when compared with the students who get psychological and psychiatric support (p=0.003). It was also found that fearful attachment level of the students who get psychological and psychiatric support is significantly higher when compared with the students who do not get psychological and psychiatric support (p=0.003). Due to the possible influences of early childhood relationships on self-perception style of an individual in adulthood period, it is important to make researches about the relationship between attachment styles in childhood period and self-esteem.
