Özet
Hayvanlar tarih boyunca onlardan daha üst akıl olan insanlar tarafından besin, ulaşım, kıyafet, eğlence vb. ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak amacıyla kullanılmıştır. Yeni kıtaların keşfi, insanların yeni canlılar görme merakı, şehir hayatının karmaşık hayhuyundan kaçma sebebiyle hayvanlar doğal ortamlarından koparılarak medeni şehirlere getirilmiş, onları sergilemek amacıyla hayvanat bahçeleri kurulmuştur. İnsanlar belirli ücretler ödeyerek sergilenen hayvanları görmeye gelmektedir. Kimi hayvanları kendi doğal otantik yaşamında görme imkânı sağlayan safari imkanları da olsa çoğu tür alışık olduğundan küçük mekanlara hapsedilmiş, çoğu ise kendi doğal ortamında doğma şansı bile elde edememiştir. Ayı, yunus, fok gibi kimi türler çeşitli şekillerde eğitilerek oyunlar sergilemekte; aslan, jaguar, kobra yılanı gibi türler güç gösterisi sergilemek isteyen kimi zenginlerin bahçelerini süslemekte, maymun, zebra, tilki gibi türler ise hayvanat bahçelerinde belirli bir ücret karşılığı teşhir edilmektedir. Zaman içinde hayvan haklarına dair uyanışlar yaşanmış, dernekler kurulmuş, çeşitli aktivizm hareketleri yapılmış olsa da günümüzde hâlâ bu teşhir devam etmekte, hayvanlar özünden koparılmaktadır. Televizyonlarda izlediğimiz belgesellerde ise hayvanların doğal hayatına kameralarımızı sokmuş, onlara isimler vermiş, hikayeler oluşturmuş ve kabilelerini kişiselleştirerek yine onları otantik ortamlarında teşhir etmişizdir. Günümüzde televizyonda bir saniye görünse dahi imzalı iznini aldığımız insanlar varken çiftleşmeleri, kavgaları, uyumaları hiçbir sıkıntı görülmeden paylaşılmaktadır. Unutulmamalıdır ki, bilinçleri, idrak yetenekleri bizler gibi gelişmiş olmasa bile acıyı, sevinci ve dostluğu "hissedebilen" varlıklardır.
Throughout history, animals have been used for food, transportation, clothing, entertainment, etc., by people who have higher intelligence than them. Due to the discovery of new continents, people's curiosity to see new creatures, and escaping from the complex life of city life, animals were taken from their natural environments and brought to civilized cities, and zoos were established to exhibit them. People come to see the exhibited animals by paying certain fees. Although there are safari facilities that provide the opportunity to see some animals in their natural authentic life, most species are confined to small spaces because they are used to it, and most of them have not even had the chance to be born in their natural environment. Some species such as bears, dolphins and seals are trained in various ways and perform games; Species such as lions, jaguars and cobras decorate the gardens of some rich people who want to show power, while species such as monkeys, zebras and foxes are exhibited in zoos for a certain fee. Although there have been awakenings regarding animal rights, associations have been established, and various activism movements have been made over time, this display still continues today and animals are detached from their essence. In the documentaries we watched on television, we put our cameras into the natural life of animals, gave them names, created stories, and personalized their tribes and exhibited them in their authentic environments. Today, even if they appear on television for a second, when there are people whose signed permission we get, their mating, fighting and sleeping are shared without any problem. This study aimed to raise awareness of animals being detached from their natural life and used as an entertainment commodity. It should not be forgotten that they are beings who can "feel" pain, joy and friendship, even if their consciousness and cognitive abilities are not as developed as us.
