Öğe An attribute-centre based decision tree classification algorithm(2009) Silahtaro?lu G.Decision tree algorithms have very important place at classification model of data mining. In literature, algorithms use entropy concept or gini index to form the tree. The shape of the classes and their closeness to each other some of the factors that affect the performance of the algorithm. In this paper we introduce a new decision tree algorithm which employs data (attribute) folding method and variation of the class variables over the branches to be created. A comparative performance analysis has been held between the proposed algorithm and C4.5.Öğe Clustering Categorical Data Using Hierarchies (CLUCDUH)(2009) Silahtaro?lu G.Clustering large populations is an important problem when the data contain noise and different shapes. A good clustering algorithm or approach should be efficient enough to detect clusters sensitively. Besides space complexity, time complexity also gains importance as the size grows. Using hierarchies we developed a new algorithm to split attributes according to the values they have and choosing the dimension for splitting so as to divide the database roughly into equal parts as much as possible. At each node we calculate some certain descriptive statistical features of the data which reside and by pruning we generate the natural clusters with a complexity of O(n).Öğe International multi-user electronic data interchange for logistics sector(2007) Silahtaro?lu G.A great deal of firms benefit from the facilities, services and conveniences of the internet however" logistics sector does not use all they can in this new world. Like well known ODETTE and EDIFACT some new standards may be developed just for logistics and transportation firms and for their clients as well. This is quite easy and useful with today's developed internet, DSL, TCP/IP amenities. In this paper, a peer to peer technology structured, some sample standards have been proposed to be adapted by logistics and client firm globally and possible advantages of the suggested systems are discussed.
