Öğe Deep learning prediction of gamma-ray-attenuation behavior of KNN-LMN ceramics(Ice Publishing, 2022) Malidarre, Roya Boodaghi; Arslankaya, Seher; Nar, Melek; Kirelli, Yasin; Erdamar, Isk Yesim Dicle; Karpuz, Nurdan; Dogan, Serap OzhanThe significance and novelty of the present work is the preparation of non-lead ceramics with the general formula of (1 - x)K0.5Na0.5NbO3-xLaMn(0.5)Ni(0.5)O(3) (KNN-LMN) with different values of x (0 < x < 20) (mol%) to examine the shielding qualities of the KNN-LMN ceramics. This is done by carrying out Phy-X/PSD calculation and predicting the attenuation behavior of the samples by utilizing the deep learning (DL) algorithm. From the attained results, it is seen that the higher the x (concentration of LMN in the KNN-LMN lead-free ceramics), the better the shielding proficiency observed in terms of gamma-shielding performance for the chosen KNN-LMN-based lead-free ceramics. In all sections, good agreement is observed between Phy-X/PSD results and DL predictions.Öğe Design and analysis of double girder overhead crane system(Elsevier, 2023) Dogan, Serap OzhanCranes, which are very useful in function, are widely used by manufacturers producing finished or semi-finished products that need to be transported in shipyards, in the aviation industry, due to the advantages of their high carrying capacity and different movement variations. Within the scope of this study, it covers the works carried out for the crane system designed for the transport of galvanized coils with a weight of at least 2 to a maximum of 6 tons, 0.20-5 mm thick, with a maximum outer diameter of coils up to 1500 mm. First of all, the elements that make up the crane system were determined and theoretical calculations were made. Then solid models were created. The design and assembly cases were created according to the situations where the designed car group and the load are located at the bridgehead and in the middle. In this way; The effects of load, carrier frame, bridge and car were investigated. The conditions of these two conditions, which were determined while carrying out these examinations, with and without the carrier frame were also examined.The results obtained as a result of 10tons applied in beams and rope were below the safety values. As a result, a work that can be manufactured has emerged as a result of the analysis applied to the crane designed for the needs.Öğe Design of special vacuum fan for use in the ship scraping process(Elsevier, 2023) Dogan, Serap Ozhan; Ozcan, MeteThe outer surfaces of ships should be smooth for efficiency and safety. With the scraping process, the performance of the ship is increased and the possible negative effects are minimized. One of the biggest causes of corrosion (abrasion) that may occur over time is rough surfaces. The scraping process, which is one of the most important processes in shipyards, is very laborious, and at the same time, the dust and chemical wastes that occur during the process reveal extremely harmful results for the environment. Thus in this work the optimum design and operating parameters (best efficiency) of the fan specially designed for the removal of dust and solid wastes from the environment with a closed system, which is generated during the surface cleaning process using abrasive blasting materials were obtained. Taguchi experimental design method was applied. Afterwards, the effect of which parameter on the results was determined with the Anova Statistical Analysis method. The same values were obtained in the results obtained by using both the experimental studies obtained by the classical method and the statistical data of the fans designed within the scope of the study, of which 9 prototypes were manufactured. In this study, the gamma ray shielding properties of hydroxyapatite (HAp) composites have been obtained and the effect of CeO2 on the shielding properties has also been investigated.Öğe Propeller design and verification studies for 30-35 meter tugboats(Elsevier, 2023) Dogan, Serap OzhanThe invention of the propeller, the breakthrough of modern shipping, has supported a much more efficient use of the seas. The propeller consists of helical surfaces placed at equal intervals around a cylinder and can be characterized as ship elements that work like a screw in water. As a result of the rotation of the propeller, the ship to which the propeller is attached makes a translational movement due to the effect-response of the fluid on the propeller. This study includes propeller design and verification as part of a comprehensive project. The scope is the design of a 2m diameter aluminum bronze propeller with 4 blades of 50 degrees backward inclination used on 25-30 m tugboats. Both static and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analyses were performed and design verification studies were carried out. The forces due to seawater, geometry of the blades, seawater flow rate and blade rotation speed were taken into consideration. The maximum deformation value of 1.7616 mm was obtained at the applied mode 4 value. When all the results obtained were evaluated, there was no need to go back to the propeller design. First of all, the angle value in the propeller geometry was found to be ideal for 50 degrees angle in terms of both strength and fluid mechanics.
