Öğe Analyzing Homotopy Perturbation Method for Solving Fourth-Order Boundary Value Problem(Hindawi Ltd, 2011) Aslanov, AfganWe analyze a previous paper by S. T. Mohyud-Din and M. A. Noor (2007) and show the mistakes in it. Then, we demonstrate a more efficient method for solving fourth-order boundary value problems.Öğe Comments on Homotopy Perturbation Method for Solving Reaction-Diffusion Equations(Hindawi Ltd, 2012) Aslanov, AfganThe paper entitled Homotopy perturbation method for solving reaction diffussion equation contains some mistakes and misinterpretations along with a false conclusion. Applying the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) in an incorrect manner, the authors have drawn the false conclusion that this approach is efficient for reaction-diffusion type of equation. We show that HPM in the proposed form is not efficient in most cases, and hence, we will introduce the correct form of HPM.Öğe An elegant exact solutions for the Emden-Fowler equations of the first kind(Wiley-Blackwell, 2016) Aslanov, AfganWe study the exact solutions of the Emden-Fowler equations and generalize the n = 1 and n = 5 Lane-Emden equations. We analyze the series approximations and show that explicit formulas can be written for new classes of equations. Copyright (c) 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.Öğe EXISTENCE AND UNIQUENESS RESULTS FOR ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS(Rocky Mt Math Consortium, 2009) Aslanov, AfganIn this paper we give some new results concerning solvability of first order singular problems. We study mainly the differential equation x' = f(t, x). We prove that the existence theorem of Caratheodory remains true if f is not defined at the given initial point and satisfies more flexible conditions. This theorem allows us to develop theorems on the existence and uniqueness of the solution of systems of differential equations and high order differential equations. We introduce a more general form of the initial value problems and try to develop this idea.Öğe A general formula for the series solution of high-order linear and nonlinear boundary value problems(Pergamon-Elsevier Science Ltd, 2012) Aslanov, AfganIn this paper, we introduce a new formula for the solution of the high-order linear and nonlinear boundary value problems. Numerical results show that the proposed formula is much more efficient and accurate than other methods with less computational work. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. An efficient way of choosing the auxiliary operator is presented. The results demonstrate reliability and efficiency of the method.Öğe The Homotopy-Perturbation Method for Solving Klein-Gordon-Type Equations with Unbounded Right-Hand Side(Verlag Z Naturforsch, 2009) Aslanov, AfganThe approximate and/or exact solutions of the generalized Klein-Gordon- and sine-Gordon-type equations are obtained. We introduce a new type of initial conditions to extend the class of solvable problems.Öğe A Note On The Existence Of Positive Solutions Of Singular İnitial-Value Problem For Second Order Differential Equations(UNIV SZEGED, BOLYAI INSTITUTE, 2015) Aslanov, AfganWe are interested in the existence of positive solutions to initial-value problems for second-order nonlinear singular differential equations. Existence of solutions is proven under conditions which are directly applicable and considerably weaker than previously known conditions.Öğe A note on the positive solutions of second order differential equations(Springer Wien, 2017) Aslanov, AfganWe obtain an existence theorem for monotone positive solutions of nonlinear second-order nonlinear differential equations via principal and nonprincipal solutions of the corresponding homogeneous equation.Öğe On a Variational Approach to Nonlinear Two-point Boundary Value Problem(Beykent Üniversitesi, 2012) Aslanov, AfganThe main purpose of this paper is to analyze the variational iteration method for solving the two-point boundary value problems. We show that Wang [Shu-Qjang Wang, A variational approach to nonlinear two-point boundary value problems, Comput. Math. Appl. 58 (2009) 2452-2455] demonstrated some incorrect solutions for two-point boundary value problems studied by means of the variational approach. We verify our assertion by direct calculation and in addition, we represent the correct results using different approaches.Öğe On Bounds of Extremal Eigenvalues of Matrices(Beykent Üniversitesi, 2011) Aslanov, AfganIn this paper, bounds of dominant eigenvalues of a matrix are obtained in terms of absolute column sums and row sums. We received more exact inequalities on the bounds of eigenvalues. Several numerical examples are given to show that our formulas are effective, at least, for some classes of matrices.Öğe On Some Properties of Systems of Linear Inequalities for Operators(Beykent Üniversitesi, 2009) Aslanov, AfganIn this paper, the existence of the solution of linear system of (operator) inequalities is considered using the theory of tensor products of linear spaces, linear operators and some properties of tensor determinantal operators.Öğe On The Convergence Of The Series Solution Of A Lane - Emden Equation Of The Second Kind(Beykent Üniversitesi, 2009) Aslanov, AfganIn this paper we study the series solution of Lane-Emden equation describing the dimensionless density distribution in an isothermal gas sphere. We establish a new result on the radius of convergence of this solution.Öğe On the existence of a solution of a second-order singular initial value problem(Wiley-Blackwell, 2015) Aslanov, AfganIn this paper, we consider a class of second-order initial value problems. We extend the family of second-order initial value problems for which the existence and uniqueness of a solution is known. To handle the singularity, we introduce the more general Caratheodory type of restrictions. The solvability results of the Emden-Fowler type of equations is established as a special case.Copyright (c) 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.Öğe On the existence of monotone positive solutions of second order differential equations(Springer Wien, 2017) Aslanov, AfganWe investigate the existence of positive global solutions of second-order nonlinear differential equations via principal and nonprincipal solutions of the corresponding homogeneous equation.Öğe On The Model of The Effect of External Magnetic Field on Blood Flow in Stenotic Artery(Beykent Üniversitesi, 2009) Aslanov, AfganWe consider the mathematical model of the effect of external magnetic field on blood flow in stenotic artery. We received an approximate analytical solution of the equation of velocity.Öğe On The Positivity Of The Difference Operators With Nonlocal Boundary Conditions(Beykent Üniversitesi, 2009) Aslanov, AfganIn this work we consider the positivity of difference operators. We established that the difference operators have some properties of the simplest self-adjoint operators since they actions can be considered as an action of operators in finite dimensional spaces. We proved theorems about the positivity and estimates of the resolvent.Öğe On The Series Solution of Polytropic Gas Spheres Equation For Polytropic Index n=3(Beykent Üniversitesi, 2011) Aslanov, AfganIn this article, a power series solution for the Lane-Emden equation for polytropic index n = 3 has been developed. We show that the existence of a solution can be explained in terms of a more simple initial-value problem. Local existence and uniqueness of solutions are proven under conditions which are considerably weaker than previously known conditions.
