Bu sebeple siyahi İngiliz tiyatrosu da göçmenler için önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Her ikisi de Nijerya kökenli İngiliz oyun yazarı olarak çok benzer özgeçmişlere sahip Bola Agbaje ve Inua Ellams sahneyi kullanarak kendilerini oyun metinlerinin içine eklemektedir. Her iki yazar da Nijerya ve İngiltere arasında kalmış olduklarından benzer kimlik problemleri yaşamaktadır; fakat toplumsal cinsiyet konusuna olan bakış açılarının yansıması oyunlarında farklı şekillerde görülmektedir. Odakları her bir oyunda değişiklik gösterse de hiper-erkeklik, kadın dayanışması ve toplumsal cinsiyet kurallarının reddi gibi benzer toplumsal cinsiyet ögelerini her iki yazar da işlemiştir. Bu tez kapsamında, Bola Agbaje'nin Gone too Far!, Off the Endz, Playing the Game ve Belong ile Inua Ellams'ın Barber Shop Chronicles, Three Sisters, The Half-God of Rainfall ve Black T-Shirt Collection adlı oyunları incelenerek Agbaje ve Ellams'ın benimsedikleri toplumsal cinsiyetin Birleşik Krallık'taki Nijerya diasporasında tecrübe ettikleri ırksal zorluklar üzerindeki bakış açılarını nasıl etkilediği göstermek amaçlanmıştır.Theatre presents current problems of the society and it gives minorities a chance to be heard and for that reason, black British theatre has a significant role for the immigrants. Bola Agbaje and Inua Ellams, who share very similar backgrounds as they are both British playwrights of Nigerian origin, use the stage to write themselves into the script. They both experience similar identity problems as they feel torn between Nigeria and Britain; however, their perspectives on the gender issue reflect on their plays differently. Their focus varies in each play, but they share similar gender elements such as hypermasculinity, women's solidarity and gender nonconformity.
