The study assesses the social losses caused by the environmental problems in the region by using cluster analysis and puts forward suggestions for a more habitable region and the sustainable use of natural resources. In order to prevent the environmental problems and socio-economic losses in the region, the study proposes that the wastewater of industrial enterprises, as one of the sources of pollution, should be treated in joint treatment plants, which are considered as the solution of the environmental problems caused by industrialisation and settlements in the region. It is also suggested that the development of positive relations between various state institutions and organisations or local governments and the enterprises would provide the opportunity to contribute more to the socio-economic and cultural structure of the region.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessCluster analysisEnvironmental problemsJoint treatment plantTurkish Thrace regionEnvironmental problems in Turkish thrace region, their causes and solutionsArticle2-s2.0-849467397771821Q317316
