Erzurum yöresine özgü bir giysi olarak ehram; işlevsel yapısının ötesinde, kadının sosyal statüsünü, toplumsal rollerini ve kültürel kimliğini yansıtan güçlü bir simge olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Tezde, ehramın tarihsel gelişimi, Osmanlı'daki yeri, yöresel halk arasındaki kullanımı, geleneksel motiflerinin sanatsal ve edebî temsilleri detaylı biçimde ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca, günümüzde ehramın geleneksel dokuma tekniklerinin moda tasarımıyla buluşturulduğu çağdaş örnekler incelenmiş ve ehramın kültürel miras olarak yeniden üretim potansiyeli hakkında incelemeler yapılmıştır. Araştırma, nitel yöntemlerle; literatür taraması, örnek analizler ve görsel malzemeler üzerinden yapılandırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, ehramın yalnızca bir giyim unsuru değil; aynı zamanda kültürel sürekliliği temsil eden, sanatsal ve ekonomik potansiyeli yüksek bir değer olduğu vurgulanmaktadır.This study examines the historical origins of the ehram, an important representative of traditional Turkish hand weaving art, its cultural symbolism, its relationship with women's identity and its reflections in contemporary art and fashion design. As a garment unique to the Erzurum region, the ehram stands out as a powerful symbol that reflects women's social status, social roles and cultural identity beyond its functional structure. In the thesis, the historical development of the ehram, its place in the Ottoman Empire, its use among local people, and the artistic and literary representations of its traditional motifs are analyzed in detail. In addition, the potential of ehram's re-manufacture as a cultural heritage is evaluated by examining examples where traditional weaving techniques are combined with modern fashion design. This study is structured through qualitative methods; literature review, sample analysis and visual materials.
