Crowdfunding is one of the results of this new emphasis on collective participation. Where social entrepreneurship is a shining trend, financing of investments becomes increasingly essential. As social entrepreneurs struggle with the disadvantages of acquiring financial resources, crowdfunding appears to be an innovative tool to overcome financial shortcomings. In this chapter, the crowdfunding concept and its types are explained.
