The first part of the paper reports on the results of an experimental programme developed by the author and aimed at evaluating the cyclic response of previously damaged reinforced-concrete (RC) specimens repaired using carbon-FRP reinforcements. The test results showed that the adopted reinforcing systems were capable of giving repaired specimens a significant increase in strength and deformation capacity as compared with undamaged specimens tested without external reinforcement (control specimens). A remarkable degradation of stiffness was observed in the repaired specimens. In order to evaluate the influence of the presence of damaged columns, inelastic dynamic analysis of spatial structures was performed.
