?Pera'nın Yüzleri? isimli tez çalışması, İstanbul'un en eski bölgelerinden biri olan Beyoğlu'nun ana caddesi Pera'yı farklı bir bakış açısı ile incelemektedir.Bu tez çalışmasının ürünü olarak, Dziga Vertov'un Sine-Göz kuramından yola çıkılarak yapılan ?Pera'nın Yüzleri? belgesel-deneysel filmi, özel bir tarihsel dokuya sahip Pera'nın, içinden geçerken pek farkedilmeyen, yüz yıldan fazla süredir varlığını sürdüren birçok binasını ve o binaların bakıp da görülmeyen, değişmeyen yüzlerini göstermeyi amaçlamaktadır.Tez çalışmasının ilk bölümünde Pera ve Pera'nın tarihçesine değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde çalışmaya kaynaklık eden Dziga Vertov ve onun Sine-Göz kuramı incelenmiş, üçüncü bölümde Belgesel Sinema, dördüncü bölümde ise Deneysel Sinema anlatılmıştır. Beşinci bölüm ?Pera'nın Yüzleri? filminin yapımına ayrılarak tez çalışması sonuç bölümü ile neticelendirilmiştir.
The thesis "Faces of Pera" approaches Pera Street, the main street of Beyoglu which is one of the oldest parts of Istanbul, from a different angle.The "Faces of Pera" experimental documentary, which is the product of this thesis works, is based on the Cine-Eye theory of Dziga Vertov. It aims to show Pera's -which has a unique historical flavor- more than a hundred year old buildings and their unseen, unnoticed faces and details.The first section of the thesis deals with Pera and its history. Dziga Vertov and his Cine-Eye theory are examined in the second section. The third and fourth sections of the thesis are devoted to Documentaries and Experimental Cinema, respectively. The fifth sections presents the movie "Faces of Pera" and the thesis ends with the conclusion section.
