Özet
Film, mübadele döneminden kalma Eski Foça'daki bir taş evin restorasyon çalışması sırasında bulunan bir mektubun hikâyesini anlatır. Mektubu bulan mimar, mektubun sırrını çözmek amacıyla Rumca bilen birini arar. Kendisi de bir mübadil olan Vediha Hanım'a ulaşır. Vediha Hanım, bu mektubu Türkçe'ye çevirirken kendi çocukluğuna döner. Evin bir duvarına saklanmış bu mektup; ailenin, evlerini terk etmek zorunda kalmadan önceki gece hissettiklerini seyirciye aktarır. Vediha Hanım, mektupta adı geçen ailenin küçük kızıyla kendi yaşadıkları arasında kimi benzenlikler/bağlantılar olduğunu fark etmektedir.
The movie takes place when a letter which is found coincidencely during the restoration of an old house in the time of commutation period in ancient Foça. The architect who finds the letter aims to find the secret of it and starts looking for someone who is able to speak Greek language. Mrs. Vediha who also goes through the commutation period translates the letter to Turkish. With the letter Mrs. Vediha goes back to her childhood days in her memory. The letter which was hidden inside the wall of the house explains the feelings of the family members who were forced to leave their own places during the commutation. Mrs. Vediha empathies with the story of little girl who is also a member of the same family.
