Özet
Her kentin bir kimliği vardır. Bu kimlik farklı coğrafyalardaki kente ait kentlilerin kültürlerini yansıtma şekilleriyle oluşur. Kentin geçmişten bu yana sahip olduğu tarihi, kent dokusuyla bir bütün halinde olmalıyken küreselleşmeyle birlikte kentin dokusu ve kente olan aidiyet duygusu yok olmaktadır. Günümüzün en büyük problemlerinden biri olan kentleşme bozukluğunu tarihi dokuyu hiçe sayarak oluşan çarpık mimari örnekleriyle algılamamız mümkündür. İnsanoğlunun duyarsızlığı ve hırsının yol açtığı rant kentin dokusunu korumakla yükümlü olan tasarımcıları değersizleştirmiş farkındalık içinde olanları dahi görevini yapmaktan alıkoymuştur. Bu tezin amacı Antakya'nın kent kimliğini eski Antakya evlerini ve Antakya sokaklarını inceleyip şu an ki durumuyla kıyaslayarak kimliksizleşme sürecini tespit etmektir.
Every city has an identity. This identity is formed by how the city's urban inhabitants in different geographies reflect their culture. While the city's identity should set a whole with the urban fabric, the sense of belonging to the town at present the city's identity has dwindled with globalization. It is possible to perceive the urbanization disorder, one of today's biggest problems, with the examples of distorted architectural façades that ignore the historical texture. Furthermore, the land speculation, caused by the insensitivity and ambition of developers and financers, prevented the designers expected to protect the city's surface from being devalued. This thesis aims to determine the identity of the city of Antakya by examining the architectural facades of Antakya houses and the streets of Antakya.
