Abstract
Finance has always assumed that people make rational decisions, often ignoring their psychological and sociological conditions. In financial models developed from the past to the present, it has been lacking in defining and explaining the variability in financial markets, and in this case, behavioral finance has emerged to respond to the challenges posed by the traditional paradigm. Behavioral Finance should be explored as a whole, along with psychological, sociological and environmental factors. Behavioral Finance should be explored as a whole, along with psychological, sociological and environmental factors. Behavioral Finance argues that people cannot always make logical and favorable decisions and behaviors. This study has been prepared to examine the sociological, geographic and demographic decisions of individual investors according to the cities in which they have financial preferences. In this context, it describes Turkey's largest megacities living individual investment decisions and properties in Istanbul. The study consists of 3 parts. In the first and second sections, general and theoretical information about general finance and behavioral finance are given. In the third part, the results, findings and behavioral tendencies of the survey applied to 250 individual investors in Istanbul are included.
