Srebrenitsa Katliamı ve medya çalışmalarına bir örnek: Alija dizisinin incelenmesi

Bu tez çalışması, 1995 yılında Bosna Savaşı sırasında gerçekleşen Srebrenitsa Katliamı'nın Türkiye'deki medya temsillerini, TRT tarafından yayımlanan Alija dizisi özelinde incelemektedir. Çalışmada, medyanın yalnızca bilgi aktaran bir araç değil; aynı zamanda toplumsal hafızayı ve siyasi söylemi biçimlendiren ideolojik bir aktör olduğu kabul edilmektedir. Niteliksel yöntemle gerçekleştirilen analizde, dizinin anlatı stratejileri, karakter kurgusu ve görsel sembolleri betimsel analiz ve tematik içerik çözümlemesi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, Srebrenitsa Katliamı'nın dizide doğrudan değil; lider figürü, dini göndermeler ve milli semboller aracılığıyla dolaylı biçimde temsil edildiğini ortaya koymuştur. TRT'nin kamu yayıncılığı rolü bağlamında, bu temsillerin siyasal-ideolojik bir çerçevede yeniden kurgulandığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

This thesis examines the media representations of the 1995 Srebrenica Massacre in Turkey, focusing specifically on the Alija television series broadcast by TRT. The study is based on the premise that media functions not only as a transmitter of information but also as an ideological actor shaping collective memory and political discourse. Using a qualitative research approach, the narrative strategies, character construction, and visual symbols in the series were analyzed through descriptive and thematic content analysis. The findings reveal that the massacre is not portrayed directly in the series, but rather represented indirectly through the figure of the leader, religious references, and national symbols. Within the framework of TRT's role as a public broadcaster, it is concluded that these representations reconstruct the event within a political and ideological context.
