Özet
Bir Zamanlar Tahaffuzhanede adlı bu belgesel filmde dünyada ayakta kalan üç karantina adasından biri olan Urla tahaffuzhanesi konu edilmiştir. Bu tahaffuzhanenin eski zamanlardan bugünlere kadar tarih boyunca işleyişi, uzman kişilerin anlatımıyla ortaya konulmuştur. Bu belgesel filmde, insanoğlunun salgın hastalıklarına karşı nasıl mücadele ettiği de anlatılmaktadır. Filmde peyderpey adaya gelen yolcular, fısıldaşmalar içersinde tahaffuzhaneye girmektedir. Onların eşyası dezenfekte edilmek için buhar kazanlarına atılmaktadır. Kadınlar ve erkekler ayrı odalara sokularak, üzerlerindeki kıyafetler dönen dolaplarda dezenfekte edilmektedir. Su şırıltısı her yeri kaplamaktadır. Görevliler ise, kıyafetleri durmaksızın buhar makinalarına atmaktadır. Makinaların çıkardığı sesler tüm binayı sarmaktadır.
In this documentary titled Once Upon a Time in Tahaffuzhane, the progress of Urla Tahaffuzhane, one of the three surviving quarantine islands in the world, and how mankind has struggled against epidemic diseases from history to the present, with the narration of experts on the subject. Passengers coming to the island gradually enter the tahaffuzhane in whispers. While every item with them is left to be disinfected in the steam boilers, women and men are expected to enter separate rooms and leave their clothes in the revolving cabinets and disinfect in the bathrooms. The murmur of running water covered everything. Meanwhile, the staff non-stop put the clothes they took from the closet into the steam machines. The noise of the sounds of the machines surrounds the whole building.
