Özet
Bu çalışmada Ahmet Mithat Efendi tarafından 1890-1891 yıllarında kaleme alınan Müşahedat isimli romanın tematik incelenmesi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Eserde kullanılan, dönemin diğer romancıları tarafından da sıklıkla kullanılan belli başlı temalar çeşitli başlıklar altında toplanmış, temaların görevleri, kullanılış amaçları, kullanılış yöntemleri açık bir biçimde ifade edilmiştir. Müşahedat romanında en dikkat çekici konuların başında, insanlar arasındaki ilişkilerden doğan aşk, dostluk, evlilik gibi konular yer almaktadır. Yazar romanın kurgusunun ve olay örgüsünün ayrılmaz bir parçası olarak aşk temini kullanmış, çeşitli ikircikler, aşk üçgenleri ile temanın işlevselliğini artırarak romandaki çatışmayı da canlı tutmayı başarmıştır. Ahmet Mithat'ın, Batılı temaların kullanımına önem verdiği gözlemlenmiş, özellikle kızların eğitimi, sanat, edebiyat gibi konulardan da faydalandığı tespit edilmiştir. Romanda kendine yer bulan temaların bir kısmının, işlerliğini kahramanlar üzerinden gerçekleştirmesi ise oldukça dikkat çekicidir ve gayrimüslimler, yabancılar ve mirasyediler de romanda sıkça bahsi geçen tiplerdendir
This study focuses on the thematic examination of the novel entitled Müşahedat by Ahmet Mithat Efendi in 1890-1891. The main themes used in the study, which were frequently preferred by the period's novelists, were gathered in various titles. Their duties, purposes and forms of use were clearly stated. At the beginning of the most remarkable subjects in Müşahedat are love, friendship and marriage which arise from relationships among people. The author has used the theme of love as an essential part of the storyline. The novelist has been succeeded in keeping the conflict alive in the novel by increasing the functionality of the theme with diverse ambiguities and love triangles. It has been identified that Ahmet Mithat attaches importance to the use of western themes. Also, it has been particularly observed that he has benefited from the subjects were girls' education right, art, literature. It is quite conspicuous that a part of the themes in the novel are performing their functions through the characters, including non-muslims, foreigners and extravagant characters are often taking part in the novel.
