Özet
Bu tez çalışmasında; küreselleşmenin yükseköğretim kurumlarına etkileri, üniversiteler için gittikçe daha cazip hale gelen küresel yükseköğretim pazarı, küresel anlamda her geçen sene artan öğrenci hareketliliği, ülkelerin bu yeni sektörde uyguladıkları serbest pazar uygulamaları incelenmiştir. Gittikçe büyüyen küresel yükseköğretim pazarında yer almak, mevcut yerini muhafaza etmek veya geliştirmek isteyen ülkelerin bu pazar içerisindeki konumları, UNESCO 'nun yayınladığı en son veriler eşliğinde analiz edilerek bölgesel ve küresel anlamda öğrenci hareketliliğindeki güncel eğilimler belirlenmiştir. Özellikle gelişmiş ülkeler için önemli bir sanayi dalı haline gelmiş olan yükseköğretim ihracatında üniversitelerin daha fazla yabancı öğrenci çekmek için uyguladıkları yurtdışı tanıtım faaliyetleri araştırılmış ve yabancı öğrencilerin en çok tercih ettikleri ülke olan ABD 'deki durum incelenmiştir.
In this thesis, we examine the effects of globalization on higher education institutions as well as global higher education market which is getting a more attactive market for universities, we then examine the growing numbers of international student mobility along with the applications of free market principles of countries into the global higher education market. We determine the current trends on student mobility on regional and global basis based on the most recent datas released by UNESCO, by analysing the positions of countries which are willing to penetrate into the growing global higher education market or wish to keep their current positions. Then we searched the global marketing efforts of universities which are aiming to recruit more foreign students in the export market of higher education which becomes an important industry in particular for developed countries, and we also examined the current situation in the USA which is the most favourite destination for international students.
