Abstract
Yapılan araştırmalar Türkiye’nin gönüllülük ve gönüllü kurumlara katılım konusunda dünyada en geri sıralarda yer aldığını ortaya koymaktadır. Konu üzerine yapılan periyodik ve kapsamlı araştırmalar olmasına karşın Türkiye’de gönüllülüğün ağırlıkla sivil toplum tartışmaları özellikle de devlet-sivil toplum ve STK sorunları, yönetimi alanları içinde çalışıldığı görülmektedir. Buna karşın günümüzde gönüllülük dünyada, farklı toplumsal grupların farklı dinsel eğilimleri, bireysel değerler, kişilerarası ilişkiler gibi farklı açılardan ve sosyoloji, psikoloji ve sosyal psikoloji, eğitim bilimleri gibi farklı disiplinlerin katkısıyla çok yönlü olarak ele alınmaktadır. Bu makale, Türkiye’de ağırlıkla STK ve sivil toplum tartışmaları içinde yer alan ve güncel gönüllük çalışmalarını tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu makale ayrıca Türkiye’de eksikliği göze çarpan gönüllülüğün alternatif biçimlerde nasıl daha farklı ele alınabileceği de tartışmayı hedeflemektedir
According to surveys on volunteering, Turkey ranks lowest in the world in citizen participation in NGOs. Periodic surveys about volunteering in Turkey focus almost exclusively on civil society debates, which examine state-civil society relations, problems of NGOs, and NGO management. But in today’s world volunteering must be eloborated from different angles, such as religous attidudes, individual values, interpersonal relations in different social groups, with the contribution of different disciplines, such as sociology, social pyschology, and educational sciences etc. This article discusses the present state of volunteering studies in Turkey, and offers a richer, inter-disciplinary lens though which to understand Turkey’s lack of enthusiasm for volunteering
