Özet
Bu tez çalışması, sivil havacılık sektörünün gelişimi ile birlikte önemli bir yönetim ve ticaret unsuru haline gelen havalimanlarının yönetimi konusuna odaklanmaktadır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde, sivil havacılık sektörüne dair bir genel çerçeveye yer verilmektedir. Buna göre sektörün genel yapısı ve sektörün etkili aktörleri birinci bölümde yer almaktadır. Öte yandan, birinci bölümde, sivil havacılık sektörünün finansal anlamdaki durumu da bulunmaktadır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, havalimanlarının sivil havacılık sektörü içerisindeki yeri, önemi ve yönetimi ile ilgili değerlendirmeler yer almaktadır. Bununla birlikte ikinci bölümde, havalimanlarının bir rekabet unsuru olarak değerlerine yer verilmektedir. Tezin son bölümünde İstanbul'da faaliyet vermiş ve halen vermekte olan uluslararası havalimanlarında, çeşitli kademelerde uzun yıllardır görev alan havalimanı yöneticileri ile görüşülmüştür. Havalimanlarının yoğun bir çalışma ortamına sahip olması nedeni ile çok sayıda yetkiliye, uzun süre görüşebilecek şekilde ulaşmakta zorluluklar yaşanmış, sadece iş yerinde görüşmeyi kabul edebilen havalimanı yönetiminden sorumlu yetkililer ile görüşülmüştür. Eğitim düzeyi olarak üniversite, yüksek lisans ve doktora düzeyinde olan, uluslararası havalimanlarında en az 10 yıllık tecrübesi bulunan yöneticiler ile görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir.
This thesis focuses on the development of the civil aviation sector and the management of airports, which have become an important element of management and trade. In the first part of the study, a general framework of civil aviation sector is given. Accordingly, the general structure of the sector and the effective actors of the sector are included in the first section. On the other hand, in the first chapter, the civil aviation sector has a financial status. In the second part of the study, the place, importance and management of airports in the civil aviation sector are included. In the second part, however, the values of airports are considered as a competitive factor. In the last section of the thesis, the airport managers, who have been working in various levels for long years, were interviewed at the international airports that have been operating in Istanbul. Due to the fact that the airports have a busy working environment, it has been difficult to reach to many officials for a long time, only the officials responsible for the airport management who can accept the interview at the workplace were interviewed. Interviews were held with managers who have at least 10 years of experience at international airports at the university, master's and doctoral level as education level.
