Özet
Sait adındaki kahraman, bir gün kırlarda gezmeye çıkar. Hava açıktır. Sokaklardan geçer. Kırlık bir alana ulaşır. Arada bir ?hişt? diye bir ses duyar ve ilgilenir. Böylece yürür, dolaşır, kır ve bahar ortamının tadını çıkarır. Sonra bir tanıdığına rastlar ve sohbet eder. Önce ?hişt? diyenin o olduğunu sanır. Tanıdığı da ondan kuşkulanır. Konuşurlar. Hal hatır sorarlar. Birkiler, böcekler ve kuşlar sohbet konusu olur. Sait vedalaşırken yine ?hişt? sesi duyarak adamdan şüphelenir, ama kendisine ?hişt? diyen o değildir. Sonra da şakalaşarak birbirlerine ?Hişt! Hişt!? derler.İnsanlar için bir, ?hişt? sesinin önemli olduğunu fark ederler. Sait oradan ayrılır. Sonsuz bir ıssılıkta yürürken ?hişt? sesi duyar.
